Final Fantasy XV: A King's Tale | oprainfall

At E3 2016, Square Enix announced that a new side-scrolling action game would be released in support of Final Fantasy XV’s world wide launch on September 30, 2016. This game is a highly stylized interpretation of one of King Regis’ adventures when he was younger. The game is imagined as a fairytale retelling from Regis to Noctis, so it’s very likely to be whimsical, fun and light in terms of its narrative depth. Based on these screens, I can’t wait for King Regis to take us all away on his bedtime story to Noctis!

This ‘tale’ looks phenomenal, but it could turn out to have a tragic ending. At present, it’s being reported that this a GameStop exclusive for those who pre-order the game from them. Final Fantasy XV: A King’s Tale could end up being a tale of woe if this game isn’t made available to those who don’t, or can’t, shop at the video game retailer. I’ve put down for the $300 dollar version directly with Square Enix’s store, and I think it would sting more than a little if substantial content like this wasn’t made available to those purchasing through other avenues (especially from the publisher directly).  But don’t worry, when we learn more we’ll be sure to let you know!

Final Fantasy XV launches WORLD WIDE for PlayStaion 4 and Xbox One on September 30, 2016.
