Zelda: Breath of the Wild Amiibo

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Amiibo

During one of their many presentations so far today, Nintendo Treehouse unveiled the upcoming Amiibo that will launch along side The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. They also revealed what the Wolf Link Amiibo will do in the new game.

There will be three new Amiibo figurines launching alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. They are Archer Link, Rider Link, and a Guardian monster. The Guardian Amiibo is also the first one to include movable parts as the arms can be moved around to change its pose. It is not known yet what these three Amiibo will do in the game, but perhaps the Guardian will make you take more damage like the Ganondorf Amiibo does in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Perhaps Archer Link will give you some arrows when scanned. We’ll just have to wait and see to know for sure.

You may recall in the past that Nintendo hinted about the Wolf Link Amiibo having some type of use in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Today, we finally learned what that use is. When you scan this Amiibo, it will spawn Wolf Link into the game as a companion character. He will help out by battling enemies alongside you. However, he has limited health.

You may know that in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, this Amiibo saved how many hearts you had left when you completed the Cave of Shadows. That number of hearts saved on the Amiibo is how many Wolf Link will have in the new game. When Wolf Link has lost all of his hearts, he will disappear. You will want to avoid this if possible as you can only summon Wolf Link once per day (that’s once per day in real life, not in-game time).

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
