way of the samurai 3

Ghostlight announced on their blog Monday, March 7th that they are officially underway on the PC port of Way of the Samurai 3 distributed through Steam. Ghostlight also published the Steam port of Way of the Samurai 4 last summer. Although no release date has been announced, they did say the port is near completion, and a closed beta would be starting up in the near future.

Way of the Samurai is a series of open world action RPGs that take place in feudal Japan. Multiple endings, choices that matter, and crafting are all common features, which of course is true for the third installment.

Way of the Samurai 3 was previously released on October 13th of 2009 in North America for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Critical reception wasn’t stellar, with the games visuals, sounds, and gameplay being common points of criticism, frequently described as being dated. It wasn’t all bad, however, as most critics seemed to agree the concept and story were very solid.
