SUPERHOT Gameplay

SUPERHOT Bullet

The first-person shooter SUPERHOT, initially released as a browser game in September 2013 and created as a 7-Day FPS project that August. It’s a game that inspired me to write one of my very first reviews, way back then, long before I came here to oprainfall. The full game built from that demo finally has a release date for Steam, via a new trailer released February 1, announcing that the game will release on February 25, 2016. The Kickstarter announcement also mentions an Xbox One release coming shortly afterwards.

The trailer can be seen below:

The prototype version can still be played in-browser on the game’s official website, although it should be noted that since it uses the Unity Web Player it is completely unplayable in newer versions of Chrome.

SUPERHOT is a first person shooter where time only moves when the player moves, creating a much slower, more methodical experience than many first-person shooters. I highly recommend that you give it a shot if you can, it’s a very well-made and interesting experience, especially considering the prototype was created in only 7 days. The DRM-free PC version can be pre-ordered from the site for $15 USD.
