Xenogears Perfect Works | oprainfall

Fans of Xenogears, rejoice! Japanese retailer Fukkan has put up a listing for Xenogears Perfect Works, claiming that they will begin stocking the book in March. This will come as a relief to fans such as myself who would dearly love a copy of the works, but find the current prices far too high.

I only finished Xenogears last month; it was quite a bit of trouble importing it and acquiring a console that would play it, but it was all worth it in the end. The game is phenomenal. Xenogears never saw a PAL release, so anyone in that region will, like me, find it difficult to get a hold of a copy and a console that will play it. It is available to our North American readers on the PSN for $10, so if you’re reading this and haven’t played it yet – do so!

Xenogears was developed by Squaresoft and released in 1998 for the original PlayStation. A lot of the people who worked on the game later went on to form Monolith Soft, who have given us Xenosaga, Baten Kaitos, Soma Bringer, Xenoblade Chronicles, and the upcoming X.

I’d love to make this purchase, but I’m still not sure if I could afford it. I know I’m sorely tempted though. But will any of you be buying the Xenogears Perfect Works? Let us know in the comments below!
