The Wii U has only been available to pre-order for two days so far and the Deluxe model is selling out already at certain retailers.  We’ve decided to make a list of online retailers to help direct you where you can buy a Wii U and if you can still get the Deluxe model or not.

Deluxe Still Available

Walmart still has the Deluxe model available, but you have to buy it as a bundle and it ships 12/4/2012: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Nintendo-Wii-U-Solution-Bundle-w-Customer-Choice-of-Wii-U-Game-and-Wii-Remote-Plus/21803986#rr

Toys ‘r’ Us currently only has the Deluxe model to pre-order with the Basic model not yet available for pre-order: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=15439636

Basic Only

GameStop/EBGames: http://www.gamestop.com/wii-u/consoles/nintendo-wii-u-8gb-basic-set/104795

Target: http://www.target.com/p/wii-u-8gb-basic-set-console-white-nintendo-wii-u/-/A-14174036#?lnk=sc_qi_detaillink

Sold Out

Best Buy, you can test your luck with in-store pick-up but online is completely sold out: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Video-Games/Wii-U/pcmcat273800050036.c?id=pcmcat273800050036&searchresults=1&searchterm=wii+u

KMart while offering the Deluxe, oddly it doesn’t offer the Basic model: http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_018W005471094001P?adCell=W3

Sears has taken down their pre-order link: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_05843253000P?adCell=W3

I hope this helps everyone out who still is looking to buy a Wii U.  This list only applies to online retailers, be sure to call your local stores to see if you can pre-order in-store.

  1. This is helpful.  There are lot of stores running out of Deluxe packages.  Looks good for the Wii U if this is more than just a marketing ploy by retail.

  2. I am pre-ordering a white Wii U at Gamestop and a black one at Toys R US as a back up plan since Gamestop will call me when someone cancels there Wii U Deluxe pre-order or when Nintendo gets more Deluxe models.

  3. Is it possible to simply go to a store on Nov. 18ht and buy one, or it will be too difficult? Also, how many days do you think it will take for the Wii U to arrive if I pre-order it? I’m not from North America, you see, but I will be in Canada when the Wii U launches.

    1. Depends on your shipping method if you pre-order it.  Since I’m assuming most companies don’t ship on sundays the earliest you can get it is monday.  You could risk going to the story on the 18th, but you would probably have to do the whole camp out routine the night before, even then it’s risky, and probably going to be really cold. I wouldn’t recommend that.

    2. You could probably get one on the day. My Dad bought a Wii on release and he didn’t line up outside a shop or anything. Admittedly, he did spend a good couple of hours going from store to store asking if they had any left. I think the place he bought ours only had the one, and it was a display model or something.

    3. Realistically, we’re talking about a Nintendo product.  As much as I love Nintendo gaming systems, they just don’t have the fan base appeal that Sony and Microsoft have.  I got the 3DS on release day, and there wasn’t a soul around.  The same thing happened on Black Friday with their special Zelda version of the 3DS.  You can very likely pick up the device the day of the release.

  4. Will Gamestop ever have room for more deluxe Wii U preorders? Everyone is sold out of black now, and Walmart says that it won’t ship the bundles until December.

    1. It’s possible they may get another allotment, but that may not happen.  I went into Best Buy and pre-ordered a deluxe set, so you may want to try to go into a physical store besides Gamestop to see if they are still offering it.

  5. Maybe you can find what you want from the inside: http://www.toyswill.com, when I was kind of like you are in the scene when people tell me this is also a good place for me to
buy what I want. Hope useful to you.
