10. Mike Jones (StarTropics)

Who? Yes, well it seems a majority of our staff members are fans of the vintager world of Nintendo video games. Either that or they’re just really old… *cough*. Mike Jones made his debut in the 1990 NES title, StarTropics – an action-adventure game that shared some similarities to the earlier Legend of Zelda games.  During StarTropics, Mike obtains a variety of weapons and items, which he uses to aid him in his quest and seem perfect for the Smash Bros. arena. And with the recent rumblings that Retro Studios could very well be working on a reboot for the Wii U, his appearance could become very likely. Also, ginger.

9. Hades (Kid Icarus: Uprising)

Hades was the main antagonist from Kid Icarus: Uprising, so it would make sense for him to make an appearance in the next Smash. It would add another ‘villain’ to the roster and he looks like a complete badass. Using all his mystical and dark magic powers would make him a force to be reckoned with. Plus it would be great to hear his banter and wisecracks every time you blast an opponent away. Also, flashy cape.

8. Eirika and Ephraim (Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones)

It’s odd to think that there have only been a total of three Fire Emblem representatives throughout the history of the Smash Bros. games. Considering the amount of characters and diversity the strategy franchise has, you would think more characters would be up for a bout of fisticuffs. Well, how about two for the price of one with the dynamic sibling duo that is Eirika and Ephraim? Similar to the Zelda/Sheik character, you will be able to switch between the brother and sister with a press of the ‘down+B’ action. They would also add a bit of variety due to Ephraim wielding a destructive lance, which would come as a refreshing change to all the sword masters that make up a sizeable portion of the previous rosters. Also, green hair.

7. Prince Fluff (Kirby’s Epic Yarn)

What with the Smash Bros. games and Kirby coming from the same creator, you should expect another representative from the world of the floating pink ball. So, why not Prince Fluff from Kirby’s Epic Yarn? Like Kirby, Prince Fluff can morph into a variety of objects, be it cars, spaceships or even a screen filling, ballistic tank – which could work very well as a Final Smash. Lacking Kirby’s sucking power, the fluffy prince could use his yarn whip to entangle opponents and throw them in all manner of directions. Clearly the little, woollen, blue ball is destined to be playable. Also, eyebrows.

David Rawlings, or ‘Rawky’ as we like to call him, joined the Operation Rainfall Campaign at the beginning. He’s British and found solace with us as he was able to understand our pain about Nintendo and their localizing faux pas. He’s a big fan of the letter ‘U’ and refuses to remove them from words, even though we constantly ask him to. He also believes it’s about time Princess Daisy got kidnapped.
