Puella Magi Madoka Magica

The popular anime series, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, looks to be making another splash come this October in Japan. The Japanese TOHO Cinemas movie theater chain has the film Gekijō-ban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica Shinpen: Hangyaku no Monogatari (Puella Magi Madoka Magica New Feature: Rebellion) being listed for an October 26 opening date with an advance ticket reservation page.

Tickets for the third Puella Magi Madoka Magica film will be going on sale July 6. There’s also an added bonus for the first batch of ticket buyers: a promotional card and an exclusive clear file folder.

Originally, the ticketing firm Pia Eiga Seikatsu had the film listed as a September opening back in April, but now only lists it as a Fall release.

Written by the famed Gen Urobuchi, Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a darker take on the magical girl anime genre, in which the consequences of wishes and desires brought about utter despair to the young girls who take the mantle of magical girl to battle villains called Witches.
