Shulk in Gaur Plains | Xenoblade Chronicles

If you’ve been playing Xenoblade Chronicles, then you will know that our septuplet of spritely heroes like to talk before, during, and after battles. Some might say they talk too much.

The contributors of Operation Rainfall got together to share what we thought were some of the best, most humorous, and just plain bizarre quotes in the game. Let us know if you agree or not in the comment section below.

Enjoy.

Shulk

In all honesty, Shulk is a little bit too serious. Sure, he’s got the weight of the world on his shoulders, his family and loved ones keep dying on him, but he really needs to lighten up. Having said that, his quotes are quite epic.

“This is the Monado’s power!”

“Streeeeam Edge!”

“You’re not invincible, Monado Enchant!”

“Haha, teach us Heropon Riki”

Reyn

Oh Reyn, you quotable son of gun, you. What with your cockney British accent and enthusiastic outlook on life, who wouldn’t want to quote you? We salute you, good sir.

“Whatta bunch of jokers!”

“It’s Reyn time!”

“HA! In your face!”

“You can’t make a rainbow with out Reyn!”
(Melia): “Dunban you need to talk to Reyn”
(Dunban): “Let’s just pretend it didn’t happen.”

Fiora

Like Shulk, Fiora’s a little bit too wet. Sure, her heart’s in the right place, but would you be scared if she started spurting these following niceties at you? It’s a good thing that she… er… y’know… erm… *cough*

“Good luck everyone.”

“I can do it! I know I can!”

“I’ll carry on fighting beside you until the very end.”

“Sometimes, you just gotta get wild.”

Dunban

Again, like Shulk, Dunban is quite serious with his quotes. Unlike Shulk, he delivers them with style, panache and zork (10 points for getting that reference). As ridiculous as his quotes are, you can forgive him for the wizened ways he pronounces them.

“I don’t have time for small fry!”

“At last, we move at the same pace!”

“I am Dunban, attack me if you dare!”

“Born into a world of strife! Against the odds, we choose, to fight! Blossom Dance!”

Sharla

The sultry medic who loves her rifle more than her younger brother, Sharla’s not one for messing about — what she wants, she gets, and she isn’t afraid to shoot you in the face if you get in the way…. other than that, she’s quite supportive.

“My rifle’s gettin’ hotta!”

“You can do better than that!”

“Don’t give ’em an inch Reyn!”

“I really could do with a shower right now!”

Melia

The pretentious, pompous, Princess likes to waffle. So much so that no one really knows what she’s going on about. However, there is something about her snobbish accent that makes her quite endearing, even if some of the stuff she comes out with is a little concerning.

“Star searing flames of absolution!”

“Feel darkness, blacker than midnight!”

“The head, shoot him in the head!”

“Riki, may I please stroke your soft fur?”

Riki

And then there’s Riki…

“Riki fight better than anyone!”

“Riki likes fighting eaaaasy monsters!”

“Sharla! Bam, pow, YEAH!”

“Sidekicks try hard”
(Reyn): “What, who are you calling sidekicks?”
(Riki): “Don’t see anyone else, must be you.”

David Rawlings
David Rawlings, or ‘Rawky’ as we like to call him, joined the Operation Rainfall Campaign at the beginning. He’s British and found solace with us as he was able to understand our pain about Nintendo and their localizing faux pas. He’s a big fan of the letter ‘U’ and refuses to remove them from words, even though we constantly ask him to. He also believes it’s about time Princess Daisy got kidnapped.
