Earlier today, GamesIndustry International reported that Sony admitted the Wii U could be a “potential risk” to the PS3. Though, it seems that Sony isn’t really too worried about that.
“It’s obviously a potential risk but we feel really good about our content,” said Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Europe. “Obviously, it comes down to content. There are people who buy gadgets for the sake of the gadget, but that’s pretty niche. We feel good about our line-up that we showed at E3. We’re very excited about publishing it. We’ve got 30 million (hardware sales target) for this year, it’s a big number but we’ve got the tools to go out and deliver that.”
Considering how some people previously said (http://www NULL.justpushstart NULL.com/2012/06/e3-2012-anything-wii-u-can-do-vita-can-do-better/) that the PS3 and the Vita can do everything the Wii U can, but better, it doesn’t surprise me that Sony isn’t too worried about the Wii U. What does surprise me is the fact that Sony didn’t bundle the PS3 and the Vita together. Maybe they’re waiting for Nintendo to announce a price point and release date, or something.
