Video game movies don’t exactly have the best reputation, but Sony Pictures seems intent on changing that. Announced in 2009, a film based on Fumito Ueda’s “Shadow of the Colossus” seems a bit closer to reality.Today, Deadline New York announced that Josh Trank, the man who directed the sleeper hit Chronicle (http://www NULL.imdb NULL.com/title/tt1706593/), would be directing the film. Interviews for writers are currently ongoing.
According to Deadline, Trank is a fan of the game, and was active in pursuing the title. Creator Fumito Ueda is also said to be involved. The game’s gigantic, or colossal, as it were, “Colossi” seem like a perfect fit for the Silver Screen. They are sure to provide a visual effects spectacle.
No release date for the film has been revealed as of yet.
