Two branches of the formerly-famous SEGA corporation (Sega of America & Sega of Europe) have formed a partnership with Iceland-based iOS developer Gogogic to develop a new free-to-play battle game, Godsrule: War of Mortals. This partnership appears to be an attempt in expanding into the new market portfolio of the F2P-style of gaming. With plans to release this title cross-platform, for browser use and iPad, is this a bid by SEGA to increase their versatility in these areas?

According to Sega of America V.P. of Digital Business, Chris Olson, “We choose our partners carefully and Gogogic has a demonstrated ability in creating top-flight games that resonate with their players.” In closed beta testing at this time, there is a potential release date planned for early in this year. More news on this game or future titles will be available as this develops.
