You might be wondering why the Operation Rainfall Retro Commercial Research Team (in other words, me) is focusing on just one installment of the Soulcalibur games in this week’s Retro Wrap-Up. Well, Soulcalibur II will probably end up being the most memorable installment in the Soulcalibur franchise, but not because it was considered the best. I mean, it was the highest rated game in the series, but that’s not why people remember it. People remember the game because each version of the game had a different guest character depending on which console you got it on. The gamecube version had Link, the PS2 version had Heihachi, and the Xbox version had…Spawn. Yeah.
As you might imagine, there were three different commercials made for each version, featuring each character. All of which are definitely entertaining. So, without further adieu, here are these three commercials for your enjoyment in this week’s Retro Wrap-Up.
Here are the highlights from this past week.
