Persona 5 Domain | oprainfall

A domain for Persona 5, “Persona5.jp”, was registered by Index Corporation, the parent company of Atlus, on June 25th. This fact was confirmed by the domain’s registration information. Although Index has recently filed for bankruptcy, they did confirm that Atlus will continue to release on schedule and that the brand will remain active.

It’s not clear what all of this means for the future of the Shin Megami Tensei series, or for Persona 5, although the game was previously confirmed to be in development. We haven’t heard much about the upcoming JRPG, but hopefully this domain registration means that we’ll be hearing more from Atlus soon. Interestingly enough, “persona5.com” was registered earlier this year, but the identity of who it was registered by is private.

With all the uncertainty surrounding Index and Atlus right now, it would definitely be nice to get some official announcement regarding Persona 5, but the domain registration certainly doesn’t guarantee anything. It’s possible that Index just wanted to protect the domain to ensure they would have it in the future. All we can do is cross our fingers and hope for the best!
