One Piece

Crunchyroll has acquired the rights to simulcast new episodes of the One Piece anime. The weekly broadcasts are set to begin Saturday November 2 at 7:00 PM PDT (10:00 PM EDT), and will continue every subsequent Saturday. Both free and premium members will be able to view the streams. However, the streams are only available to those users in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Crunchyroll has also said that past episodes of the series will be available for streaming “at a later date”.

One Piece is a long-running series about the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew of pirates called the Straw Hat Crew. It is currently in its 16th season. The show is adapted from a even longer-running manga series created by Eiichiro Oda. Both the manga and anime are wildly popular in Japan, each running for well over a decade now. There is even a multitude of video games based on the series, including One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 and One Piece: Romance Dawn. On top of that, Nintendo has made a couple One Piece-themed 3DS XL systems.
