Price cuts will have to wait until next year, say Sony executives.

It looks like gamers hoping for a price cut for the PlayStation Vita will have to wait.  Earlier this week, Eurogamer (http://www NULL.eurogamer NULL.net/articles/2012-09-29-sony-on-the-new-ps3-vita-sales-the-decline-of-3d-and-the-threat-of-the-wii-u) interviewed Sony’s Fergal Gara, who confirmed that “a price cut [for the Vita] will have to wait until next year.”

In another interview with Eurogamer (http://www NULL.digitalspy NULL.com/gaming/news/a400016/no-vita-price-cut-this-year-says-sony NULL.html), Sony boss Shuhei Yoshida said that “at a certain point in the future [Sony] would like to address the pricing issue for some of the people who are waiting. But this year we [at Sony] are trying to add value by creating different types of bundles.”

So, while it looks like Sony will stick with its current strategy of bundling together games to add value to the Vita, there still is a possibility of a price reduction in 2013.
