While many of the highlights today were about our trusty plumber and his older brother, the eShop games got quite the bit of time in the spotlight, especially the quirky 2D side-scrolling title HarmoKnight. It’s all about punching and jumping through music in rhythm with over 50 levels spread across 8 zones. They weren’t kidding when they said this game would be a doozy on how large the game would be in length. From what I can see from the footage we got this time around, the game is certainly up to par in quality with the rest of the games featured in the eShop.

What’s even better than the new gameplay footage is the announcement on the game’s release date. Thankfully, Nintendo 3DS owners won’t have to wait too long, as HarmoKnight will be released exclusively on the 3DS eShop on March 28th of this year. In the meantime, if you missed today’s Nintendo Direct and the new trailer for the game, you can catch it below. (A special treat for those who watch all the way through, a certain song plays that you may be familiar with!)
