Attack on Titan - oprainfall

Attack on Titan (also known as Shingeki no Kyojin) is a series that we have covered to an extent here at Operation Rainfall. If you aren’t familiar with it yet, then you might not know that it’s become pretty popular both in Japan and in the West. So maybe it’s not surprising to hear that the series will be adapted into a video game. The announcement was made by series producer George Wada at this year’s Anime Expo.

There’s no news yet regarding what system the game will be released on, but we do know to expect to see it sometime next year. There was also no definitive news on whether or not it would be localized for Europe and North America. This new title will not be the first Attack on Titan game, but it is rumored to the series’ first console game. It will follow mobile game Shingeki no Kyojin -Hangeki no Tsubasa- and a series of visual novels included with the third and sixth Blu-Ray releases in Japan.

Attack on Titan is a manga and anime series that takes place during some of humanity’s darkest days. The human population has holed itself up in a walled city to protect itself from human eating giants called Titans. Specialized fighters exist to fight the Titans, but with the walls holding up no one really sees the need for them — until the Titans break through for the first time. After seeing their lives destroyed, friends Eren, Mikasa, and Armin enroll in the army to join the fight.

The manga is being released in North America by Kodansha Comics USA, and the anime is licensed by Funimation in the US and Manga Entertainment in the UK. It’s available to watch for free over at Crunchyroll.
