Mutant Mudds Deluxe

Renegade Kid

I hope more and more people are becoming familiar with Jools Watsham and the folks at Renegade Kid. Goodness knows, they’ve certainly been busy as of late! I’ve played through practically their entire library of 3DS eShop classics (like Bomb Monkey and ATV Wild Ride 3D), and I (like many others) am eagerly awaiting more news on both Cult County and Treasurenauts.

Their flagship 3DS eShop title was the game that opened my eyes to what Renegade Kid was capable of, though. Mutant Mudds is definitely my Game-of-the-Year-Besides-Xenoblade-Chronicles for 2012. I’ve played through 100% of the game on both 3DS and PC, beaten all those awesome Grannie levels, and now… I’m hungry for more.

Jools Watsham delivers once again, this time putting Mutant Mudds onto the Wii U. News of Mutant Mudds Deluxe has been stirring since the old Wii U Conference, and it’s even been featured in Nintendo Force a time or two. News of the game’s release has finally begun making the rounds: expect it to arrive on the Wii U eShop on June 13th, 2013.

So, what is Mutant Mudds Deluxe? It seems similar to what WayForward have done with Mighty Switch Force HD. It’s Mutant Mudds in beautiful high definition, with plenty of features exclusive to the Wii U Gamepad including off-screen play. It’s got the Grannie levels, it’s got 20 brand new levels exclusive to that version of the game, and it’s even got a sliver of newness pointing towards Mutant Mudds 2 on the horizon. That’s certainly enough to sell this devoted fan.

But… are you sold on Mutant Mudds Deluxe? Be sure to let us know! Here’s a look at the game as per a shiny new trailer.

You can check out the game’s Official Site for more information! Be sure to stay tuned for more updates about all of Renegade Kid’s games in the not-too-distant future.
