Note that the logos for both this and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate are the same. Honestly, now that I think about it, the “3” in Ultimate‘s title should have been a giveaway.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate has just been confirmed for the Wii U and 3DS! This game is a HD port of Monster Hunter 3G, which came out in Japan last year.

Both Cha-cha and Kayanpa will be returning! Additionally, in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate you will be able to chat to your friends in the same way you were able to in Monster Hunter Tri.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate supports online play, so you can go hunting with your friends from across the globe. Online play is for the Wii U version only; the 3DS version of this game does not support Wi-Fi.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate can connect wirelessly with Japanese copies of Monster Hunter 3G for 3DS. They can transfer save data back and forth between the Wii U and 3DS; so they can transfer Wii U data to their 3DS and play it on the go, then put it back on their Wii U and continue playing from there as they see fit.

Japanese gamers can also get a special Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate bundle when the Wii U comes out there on December 8th. It will go for ¥38850, which is around 500 $USD.

The game will be out in the West March 2013; only half a year from now!

More information coming soon!
