Liege

Liege will be released for the Wii U having just recently achieved their $51,000 stretch goal earlier today.

The game was originally slated for the PC, Mac, iOS, and Android platforms. However, John Rhee, the game’s creator, has added several stretch goals to bring the game to additional platforms. Last night, the project crossed over the $48,000 stretch goal for PS4, Vita, and Linux ports. Today, the game adds the Wii U to its roster of platforms.

Unfortunately, the Wii U version will be released “a little after” the other platforms. Rhee does not want to push the game’s intended release date back, and because the Wii U stretch goal came so late in the campaign, the release window for the Wii U version was moved back.

The project originally set its goal for $15,000 and, as of this writing, is sitting pretty at $52,934 with 3 days left. There are two additional stretch goals remaining. The first one comes at $58,000, where an epic battle that ended up being too epic for Rhee to create alone and had to be scaled back will be restored in all its glory. The second is at $67,000, allowing Rhee to upgrade the graphics with higher resolution environments and smoother character animations with full 360-degree movement as opposed to the current 8 directional movement.

Last week, oprainfall was lucky enough to sit down with Rhee and chat with him about the game’s development.

Liege is slated for a 2014 release.

Where does he find the time to write about them?
