For 17 years, video game giant Sega has kept a shining jewel hidden away in Japan.

A video game juggernaut in its native country, the Sakura Wars (http://en NULL.wikipedia NULL.org/wiki/Sakura_Wars) (or Sakura Taisen) franchise has spawned five core entries, several spin-offs, and inspired a mountain of media including 7 anime series, a successful run of stage productions, and even a cafe that remained open for nearly a decade. A success of this magnitude would make one think that the company tried to branch the series out into other languages, but as of 2013, only the fifth core entry is available in English.

As a group consisting of dedicated Sega fans, RPG enthusiasts and anime aficionados, Kiss Me Sweet: The Sakura Wars Localization Project aims to raise awareness for this franchise in order for an English localization to be achieved. There are existing PC ports of the first four games in the franchise, and due to the growing demand for JRPGs on the digital marketplace, we believe that digital distribution of these ports through channels such as Steam, GOG and/or GamersGate would prove lucrative for Sega. Furthermore, characters from the franchise are set to appear in June’s Project X Zone (http://www NULL.youtube NULL.com/watch?v=Y-KoK03bTok) for the 3DS, which is poised to be one of the bigger games on the console this year.

Considering the large amount of Sega fans and JRPG gamers out there today, we’re confident that the Sakura Wars franchise could get a new lease on life in North America. In the coming months, we will be posting videos put together by some of our most dedicated members, showcasing their translation process for the games, as well as posting bits of news about the Sakura Wars franchise itself. If you’re interested in anime and/or JRPGs, please spread the word so Sega knows that we want to play these landmark games!

(https://twitter NULL.com/swkissmesweet) Thank you for your interest and support, and hopefully, we can work together to get this definitive franchise localized in its entirety!
