In a recent interview at Comic-Con event in San Diego this past weekend, Tales of series producer Hideo Baba stated in an interview with Famitsu that Tales of Xillia 2 is in its final phases
“With all the major elements in the game”. That even while he was at all these events, he reassures everyone that, “While the time difference makes things difficult, he receives reports from his staff daily, and gives back instructions.”
The rest of Famitsu’s interview was mostly about Namco Bandai’s international plans for the series.
Hideo Baba while on a Europe tour, visiting Europe, England, Germany, Italy, Spain and France, showed off a presentation of Tales of Graces f (Which will be released in the PAL region this August) all the while ending it off with the announcement of the localization of Tales of Xillia for Western regions. He was very delighted with the response of the news where the crowd at this year’s Japan Expo in Paris, erupted in joy, at the same time the internet exploding with all the buzz.
Then to top it all off, he also stated that if sales for Tales of Xillia are good, the chances of the West seeing its sequel will be even greater. While it’s great that he would couple that with the already amazing announcement of Tales of Xillia, it is no surprise since Hideo Baba has stated once again that he would love to see more of the ‘Tales of’ games to leave Japan, “To increase the opportunity to bring the games to overseas fans.”
So while no plans are set for the sequel to leave Japan, he finishes it off with a last statement:
“Since they’re releasing Xillia, fans would be disappointed if they did not release the sequel, so they would like to release Xillia 2 if at all possible.”
