HarmoKnight

Game Freak (the developers behind Pokemon, as most of you should be well aware) have shown interest in an English release of their new rhythm action game HarmoKnight. In regards to a localization, producer Junichi Masuda said, “…it’s definitely something we’d like to do, but we’re working out the details with Nintendo now and seeing what would be the best way to get that to players.” Looks like it’s up to the big N to iron out all the details.

HarmoKnight is a rhythm “runner” style game where the character runs to the right while the player taps the screen, hitting enemies, collecting musical notes, and jumping over obstacles to the beat. It was released at the beginning of this month in Japan on the 3DS eShop.

Feel free to look at more information about the game here and here. Clearly, this is a game that should be on your radar, especially if you’re a fan of anything Game Freak has done in the past.

Pokemon fan’s might take particular interest in this short gameplay clip of a Pokemon based level:

Between Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure, and now HarmoKnight, it’s clear that the Nintendo 3DS is on a roll when it comes to music games. Here’s to some good news about this game’s western release in the not-so-distant future!
