There are very few advertising campaigns that go on to become extremely popular and take on lives of their own. Sony’s ad campaigns for Kevin Butler were some of the most entertaining in recent memory. However, he wasn’t the only fictional spokesperson to become a huge success. Years ago, when SEGA was still a console maker, they came up with their own character to help sell the SEGA Saturn. His name was Segata Sanshiro, and he was arguably one of the most incredible characters of all time. If his commercials appeared in the West, the console would’ve easily performed much better at retail. But I digress.

To honor one of the greatest fictional spokespersons of all time, the Operation Rainfall Retro Commercial Research Team (in other words, me) have found a compilation of all the Segata Sanshiro commercials for you viewing pleasure in this week’s Foreign Wrap-Up. It even starts out with, fittingly enough, a Decemberween-themed commercial.
