Fatal Frame II Box Art

What many consider the apex of the series, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly will finally make its debut on PSN on May 6th. The first Fatal Frame game was also put on PSN not too long ago. Both provide some of the scariest, most atmospheric experience of the survival horror genre, only matched by its peers with the original Silent Hill games and Siren (or Forbidden Siren depending on your region).

Like its predecessor before it Fatal Frame II made such an impression that Tecmo ported the game on the original Xbox as a “Directors Cut” edition with all new extra content. Some of this new content and more would find its way into the updated port for the Wii. The Wii version is called Project Zero 2: Wii Edition, but sadly it never made its way to North America.

However, even without the extra bonus features, the original version of Fatal Frame II is still worth every bit of your time, especially if you are a survival horror fan who has yet to jump into the series or play this installment.
