Since we started the Crowdfunding Spotlight back in November of last year, we’ve been experimenting with how to properly tell you about the indie games that need funding. Currently, we’re going with having individual spotlight articles for each game along with a recap. And for the most part, it’s worked out well, at least for the individual articles. And today, we start with the recaps of what has been going on with the projects we’ve been covering.

A Hat in Time

Kickstarter Project. Status: Funded

The N64-platformer-inspired platformer had a hell of a run, garnering almost 1000% of its initial goal with $296,360. The project was able to hit every stretch goal and add on a number of songs that Banjo-Kazooie composer Grant Kirkhope will write for the game (at a song for every $15,000 over $200,000 plus the $150,000 stretch goal, that will mean that Kirkhope will compose as many as 7 songs for the game). Alpha builds will go out to backers once Gears for Breakfast believes they can give the alpha testers an enjoyable experience. Beta testers will have to wait until the game is “content complete.”

As for the platforms it will come to, nothing has changed yet. It is still planned for PC and Mac with the hope of getting on Steam and Wii U. To get on Wii U, they need to be able to have access to a publisher with a full UDK license (which would cost more than they were able to raise) as well as getting a developer’s kit (which should be a bit easier now that Nintendo is making those free). To get on Steam, they need you to vote for the game on Steam Greenlight. You can do that by going to this page and voting for the game.

Harvest

Kickstarter Project. Status: Funded

This visual novel game inspired by Snatcher and Ace Attorney was able to make its $10,000 goal as well as hitting the first stretch goal for an FMV intro for the game. Overall, including the money raised through PayPal, they were able to raise just over $12,500. Unfortunately, this means that the project missed out on Wii U and PS Vita ports…

…for now. GondeFire has actually launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise money for the rest of the goals. Goals will be $1,000 for Wii U and PS Vita ports, $1,500 for more gameplay, and $5,000 for translations into Spanish, French, and German. Check it out, and help an even further dystopian Detroit see the light of day on consoles.

AeternoBlade

Crowdfunding - AeternoBlade

Indiegogo Project. Status: Funding in Progress

In case you missed the original Spotlight, here’s what this game is. This is a time-shifting hack ‘n’ slash 3DS game that is looking for localization to Western regions. Unfortunately, out of the $30,000 that Corecell is hoping to get, the project has only received $913. There is still plenty of time to donate towards the campaign.

Soul Saga

Kickstarter Project. Status: Funded

The funding period just ended for the campaign. The project eclipsed its original goal of $60,000 by raising $195,528. Along with the main game, they were also able to reach goals for voice acting, guilds, legendary beasts and ports to Wii U, Vita, and PS4. Unfortunately, they just missed Garen’s Saga. But you can help them get there by donating through PayPal right now. You can also help by voting for the game on Steam Greenlight.

UPDATE: It was revealed sometime after the funding process was over that they would go ahead and add in Garen’s Saga, since they were so close to making the $200,000 stretch goal.

Liege

Crowdfunding - Liege

Kickstarter Project. Status: Funding Reached; In Progress

When we first talked about this game, the campaign had already reached its initial goal. Today, it has raised more than twice its goal and even reached a stretch goal for being able to ride horses in the game. In addition to this, John Rhee and Coda Games have been approved to bring the game to PSN. They’ve also applied to Nintendo and are waiting to hear back from them.

You still have plenty of time to help out this project. The campaign goes until July 28th at 10PM EDT. You can also help the game by voting for it on Steam Greenlight.
