Big news, Ace Attorney fans! Capcom has revealed that both Miles Edgeworth and Trucy Wright will be making return appearances in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies. Spotted on the official Japanese site for the game, artwork and screenshots of the two characters can be seen. Be warned, this article may wander vaguely into spoiler territory, so stop now if you haven’t yet played the previous games.
Miles Edgeworth
Having been totally absent in Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, fans have been eagerly anticipating the reappearance of everyone’s favorite prosecutor. Phoenix Wright’s childhood friend turned adversary turned ally hasn’t appeared in a game alongside the defense attorney since 2007 in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations. In that time, Edgeworth’s own popularity has grown, netting him a starring role in two spin-off titles. In Dual Destinies, Edgeworth has gone through a bit of a redesign, sporting a longer coat, as well as a spiffy pair of glasses. Fortunately, his signature cravat remains intact. It is not currently known what role he will play in the new game as, up until this point, it was assumed that Jin Yuugami was going to be the key prosecutor for Dual Destinies.
Trucy Wright
Young magician, Phoenix’s adoptive daughter and Apollo’s former assistant, Trucy was nearly certain to return for Dual Destinies. Considering that only a year has gone by since Apollo Justice, Trucy has not gone through much of a change. Her magician attire is unchanged since her last appearance, though she does appear to be slightly older. Since Athena Cykes has taken on the role of assistant for Phoenix and Apollo, it is unclear if Trucy will be aiding in investigations in her normal capacity this time around. Either way, it’s a sure bet that she’ll be there, magic panties in hand, to help in any way she can.
With more characters returning for this latest installment in the Ace Attorney series, dare we hope that more of our favorites will soon be revealed?
