2) Wii Fit Trainer

Wii Fit Trainer | Super Smash Bros.
…and bend and stretch and one and two and squat and lean and…

No one saw this coming. NO ONE! The Wii Fit Trainer shocked many fans when she was announced as a playable character, and that’s exactly why I’m putting her so high up the list. This is Sakurai at his absolute best, taking a character whom no one really cared about and turning them into a formidable fighter. All her moves are based on her fitness regime. Yoga, Pilates, and hula hooping make her one of the most diverse characters to ever grace Smash Bros.

1) NEW ENTRY: Shulk

Who was I kidding? Even after hearing rumours, and watching the video leaks, the thought of Shulk being a playable character didn’t fill me with too much excitement. Then the official reveal trailer happened. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about Shulk officially being announced that makes his reveal 10 times better than anyone else’s. Not only that, but he looks like a complete badass. His use of the Monado gives him a wealth of possibilities for combos and strategic gameplay, plus Dunban and Riki join in the fun as part of his Final Smash. Marvellous. Can’t wait to get my filthy mitts on him.

Well, there you go. Do you agree with my list? Which newcomers are you anticipating playing as? Who else do you think will join the roster? Let me know in the comments below.

David Rawlings, or ‘Rawky’ as we like to call him, joined the Operation Rainfall Campaign at the beginning. He’s British and found solace with us as he was able to understand our pain about Nintendo and their localizing faux pas. He’s a big fan of the letter ‘U’ and refuses to remove them from words, even though we constantly ask him to. He also believes it’s about time Princess Daisy got kidnapped.
