Recently, Valve announced 32 games and applications that have been approved for sale on Steam via the Greenlight Community. These software titles join the well over 200 games and applications that have already been approved for Valve’s market. Here are a few interesting games that made the list this time around.

An RPG platformer in the Metroidvania vein that was recently funded via Indiegogo, AdventurOS uses the folders and file types on your computer to create a different experience for every user. What apparently happens is that the game accesses an index of you computer, creating new rooms from folders, as well as monsters, NPCs, treasure chests, and anything else from file types. Developer Evelend Games assures users that the game will not affect any folders or files it accesses. However, you can affect the game if you change something in a folder, making you go back through the room again.

One of the new “it” games on Kickstarter, Hyper Light Drifter is an action RPG that takes its inspiration from the 8- and 16-bit eras. From the Steam Greenlight page:

Visions for this game have been fluttering in my skull for ages; something dark and fantastic, with giant forests to navigate, huge floating structures to explore, deep crumbling ruins to loot, massive throngs of enemies to rend, and behemoths both flesh and mechanical to overcome. I want it all to be as beautiful as possible, forging color with the dark and eerie wastes and intimidating landscapes. It plays like the best parts of A Link to the Past and Diablo, evolved: lightning fast combat, more mobility, an array of tactical options, more numerous and intelligent enemies, and a larger world with a twisted past to do it all in.

Funding for the game is still ongoing, with a potential for porting the game to the Wii U along with the PS4, Vita, OUYA, Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. Go to the Kickstarter page if you would like to help out the game. Also, check out the trailer below.

A game described by its developer as “the hectic big boss fights of RTYPE combined with the smarts and resource management of Dune 2… with robots,” McDROID is cel-shaded tower defense game where you defend your shuttle and your strawberry plants from invading aliens. Plant trees to heal the planet and build factories that build robots that build factories.

Here is a list of the rest of the games and applications that were Greenlit.
