Kentucky Route Zero TV Edition | oprainfall gaming

This week I finished up my Time on Frog Island. There were a couple achievements I wanted to grab after I completed my review, and it’s a charming enough game I didn’t mind jumping back in for a bit. I also spent an inordinate amount of time with Stray; stay tuned for my review on that one! (It’s very good!) Other than those, I decided to finally give Kentucky Route Zero a try. It’s been on my list of must-plays for a while now, and the TV Edition is on Xbox Game Pass, so why not, right? I didn’t know what to expect going in, but I definitely didn’t expect the weird mix of text adventure, map exploration, and light puzzle solving I got. Not only that, but I can’t recall the last time I felt this sort of oppressive foreboding while playing a game that wasn’t expressly horror. The writing is also really good and I love the presentation. I only completed Act I, so I’m not very far in, but it’s safe to say I definitely want to see more. – Leah
