Hindsight 20/20 – Wrath of the Raakshasa is an action RPG with a one-armed hero. The kingdom of Champaner finds itself under siege by the Raakshasa. These ferocious beasts are citizens molded into monsters by a mutating virus! As the threat of extinction grows, the hero Jehan must act. Will he follow the kingdom’s policy against violence with a more merciful approach to combat, or be a ruthless warrior? Furthermore, those around the hero are watching. They will react differently depending on his moral choices. So in short, the story changes dynamically based on the player’s actions.
Hindsight 20/20 – Wrath of the Raakshasa has just arrived on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. According to the press release, the game is priced at $14.99. Additionally, it received an “M for Mature” rating from the ESRB. You may know developer, Triple-I Games, as veterans from BioWare, ArenaNet, and Sucker Punch.
Decisions and Consequences
The kingdom of Champaner has strict rules against violence. Jehan must choose how to defend the kingdom and his hometown. He could use the more merciful stun rod to incapacitate enemies. Conversely, he can violate the kingdom’s staunch anti-violence rules. This approach involves cutting through foes with the deadly edge of a sword!
In Hindsight 20/20 – Wrath of the Raakshasa, the kingdom’s citizens will be affected by the hero’s choices not just inside battle, but out. Whether they praise you or look at you in disgust depends on your actions. The game is called Hindsight 20/20 for a reason. There is no right choice. Some that may seem obvious may no longer be through the lens of hindsight. The path you create for yourself will lead to one of ten different endings. Hemanshu Chhabra, director at Triple-I Games commented about the focus on choices and consequences:
“From the outset of development on Hindsight, player choice and consequence have always been our key focus. The choice between right and wrong is never crystal clear, and we cannot wait to see how players experience how every decision they make impacts the world Jehan is fighting for.”
