XSEED Games has announced that Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin has officially hit 1 million copies sold worldwide. They mention that sales have far surpassed what the game’s developer, Edelweiss, expected and that the game was one of the 10 highest ranked JRPGs on Metacritic in 2020.

In addition to the news of the game hitting 1 million sales, XSEED has also announced that the game has received a new update. This update has added a few different things. First, language support for Latin American Spanish and Simplified Chinese has been added. Second, Edelweiss has added in a feature where you can hold both your dog and cat together at one time. Plus, your dog will now run to greet you when you return home. And finally, XSEED says that a variety of balancing adjustments and improvements were made to keep seasoned players coming back for more. Oh and one more thing, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin has just been released on the Epic Games Store. And in celebration of the 1 million copies the game has already sold in its various forms, the game is now 30% off for PC worldwide, and in the eShop and PlayStation Store for North America, Europe and Japan.
