Independent developer, Ezekiel Rage, along with publisher Plug In Digital, have launched their adult Metroidvania, The Skylia Prophecy on Steam. It’s filled with beautiful retro-style pixel-art, and tough-as-nails difficulty. This story-driven Metroidvania has more than a dozen different locations to explore as you lead Mirenia on a quest to vanquish the very evil that she herself unleashed as a teenager. You’ll need to level up and improve your magic power to succeed on this journey, as you solve riddles, fight hordes of monsters, delve into ancient dungeons, and take on complex boss battles. All the while, you’ll enjoy an atmospheric soundtrack. Here is The Skylia Prophecy trailer:

Mirenia is on a quest to redeem herself. The evil now rampaging around her was unleashed by her 18 year old self three years ago. She is now en route to Tirkin Fortress to perform an ancient spell that is supposed to help her vanquish this evil. Armed with her trusty Shield Blade, can Mirenia undo the terrible mistakes of her past? In the villages around her, young women are being raped while the men are slaughtered. In the face of such horrors, success is the only option!

The Skylia Prophecy is currently enjoying a 10% launch discount. You can find out more about the game at the steam page, and at the official website. Lastly, here are a couple of screenshots from the press release:

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
