In a short video presentation today put out by The Pokémon Company, they made a number of announcements regarding the franchise, but probably the biggest one was the release date of the upcoming second expansion to Pokémon Sword and Shield, The Crown Tundra.

In The Crown Tundra, players will explore the snowy Crown Tundra of the Galar region as you embark on an investigation of the tundra. Unique aspects of this expansion include the ability to catch every legendary Pokémon featured in all of the main games. Many of these legendary Pokémon will be encountered in dynamax lairs you’ll explore as part of your journey. Another new feature is the Galarian Star Tournament, where you’ll be able to team up with the regions gym leaders and take part in battles with other teams.

The Crown Tundra launches October 22nd. This is the second expansion to Pokémon Sword and Shield with the first being The Isle of Armor that launched back in June. If you held out on picking up Sword and Shield you might want to wait for November 6th when they’ll be re-releasing it with both expansions included.
