The Demon Girl Next Door is a manga series written by Izumo Itō. The manga is published by Houbunsha in their Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine and currently has 5 volumes in print. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the manga for release in English.

The first season of the anime was produced by J.C. Staff, directed by Hiroaki Sakurai, and ran for 12 episodes from July 2019 to September 2019. The anime was licensed by Sentai Filmworks and streamed on their HIDIVE service. A Blu-ray release of the first season is currently available for pre-order on their online store.

Sentai Filmworks describes the first season as follows:

Yuko Yoshida is just an ordinary schoolgirl — until one day the demon Lilith unleashes her dormant, devilish powers! Yuko transforms into Shadow Mistress Yuko, a supernatural powerhouse with horns and a devil tail. Now she must defeat another mystical being named Momo Chiyoda, the shrine maiden of the Light Clan who just so happens to go to Yuko’s school! But being a demonic magical girl isn’t as easy as it looks, and Yuko has a lot to learn before she’s ready to fulfill her destiny.
