Here we have another dream themed game, this time a creative puzzle platform adventure in Ever Forward. I suppose this is somewhat fitting seeing as how I’m writing these articles at night. For a limited time, the game is discounted 10% with the OST, art book, and two bonus puzzles all included free during launch week! Ever Forward has just launched on Steam, brought to you by Pathea Games. You may know them as the Chongqing, China based developers behind sandbox RPG, My Time at Portia. The press release notes that a free demo is also available for download. Here’s the trailer:

 

Ever Forward sees players uncover the mysteries of a young girl’s heart. They’ll solve puzzles in the subconscious mind of twelve-year-old Maya. The game has two realities, one full of pastel-colored fields and coastal retreats, while the other is full of geometric traps and riddles. Players will collect memory fragments as they progress to unlock new areas. Along the way, they’ll slowly reveal the secrets of Maya’s heart, while conquering her fears. Ever Forward‘s Director, Bin Yang, had this to say about the game:

“Our team has paid careful attention to all the feedback we’ve received since we’ve launched Ever Forward’s demo. We added more challenges, improved our tutorial, and optimized the title’s sound quality to make sure that fans are completely immersed in Maya’s vivid universe. We can’t wait to witness people solve our puzzles and share their experiences with one another.”

About Michael Fontanini

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general).

Michael is also a computer programmer. This started with a toy he got as a kid called Pre-Computer 1000 that was made by V-Tech. It had a simple programming mode (a bare-bones version of BASIC) which is what started him down the road of being a programmer! Michael can program in BASIC, Visual Basic, C++, C#, and is familiar with Java and Lua Script.

Putting programming and gaming together, Michael became a hobbyist game developer, which may give him some good insights on game development! Most recently, he has been playing with the Unity 3D game engine (a powerful and easy-to-use engine) and learning 3D modelling in Blender.

I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
