DATE A LIVE: Rio Reincarnation | Origami

Following an enormous amount of updates, Idea Factory International finally announces that DATE A LIVE: Rio Reincarnation is out now. The three-in-one package will cost $49.99 but have a 20% discount for launch week bringing it down to $39.99. For clarification, yes it’s all three DATE A LIVE visual novels in one game. This includes: DATE A LIVE: Rinne UtopiaDATE A LIVE: ARUSU-INSTALL, and the title game DATE A LIVE: Rio Reincarnation. Safe to say when it’s three reads for the price of one, it’s a good deal. The limited edition is still available for $84.99.

What’s the story?

Based on the popular light novel series from Fujimi Fantasia Bunko, which inspired three anime adaptations, DATE A LIVE, DATE A LIVE II, DATE A LIVE III, and the anime movie Gekijoban DATE A LIVE: Mayuri Judgement, the story of DATE A LIVE begins thirty years after a series of large disasters, known as spacequakes, that were caused by the appearance of mysterious entities known as Spirits.

These unstoppable forces wreak havoc until Shido Itsuka, an average high school student, encounters one such being and learns that he alone possesses the ability to seal away a Spirit’s powers.

Now Shido will save the world, and the Spirits, with the power of love!

Our review for the title will come in three parts starting with Rinne Utopia. Please look forward to it in the coming week! This writer would like to note that you don’t have to watch the anime to enjoy the visual novels.
