Waking is a deep and emotional adventure game, with souls-like combat. You now face the toughest trial of your life, as you lay imprisoned in your own body, lost in the dark dream world of a coma. Do you quietly succumb to death, smothered under the weight of deep regrets about mistakes you made, important things left unsaid, and things taken for granted? Your only other choice is to use the cherished memories of those you love to drive you forward and fight to regain everything you’re about to lose, before it’s too late.

The adventure and story of Waking takes place entirely inside your own subconscious mind, as you battle the forces of your own inner darkness and make your last stand against death. Along the way, you’ll have to face the shadows of your own fears and desires. You’ll have to take on your personal demons, and past traumas to succeed. You’ll see a dear, but long dead pet, and the people you love, as you explore the depths of your own mind, in this battle to take back your life from the clutches of death. Waking will arrive on Steam and Xbox One sometime this summer. Here is the trailer:

The game features guided meditation, in which you’ll have visions of the memories of your life through a sequence of decisions. The world of Waking is also procedurally generated, so each play through will be different from the last. Waking has been built by a single indie developer (Jason Oda) and a small team of collaborators who helped him craft it from 2015 to 2019. Trapped in a coma, lost in the darkness of a dream world, do you quietly succumb to death under the weight of deep regret, or use the cherished memories of those you love to fight for your life? You can find out more at the official website.

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
