Get ready to monkey around with the lovable, huggable Tamarin as he embarks on a quest to save his family and his forest from encroaching insects.

Players will take the role of the titular character in this new third-person action-adventure by Chameleon Games. An ever-expanding horde of insects is intent on industrializing Tamarin’s forest and driving other species to extinction, and it’s up to him to stop it. The fully-realized 3D world features platforming, exploration, and plenty of bug splatter as players explore the Northern wilderness on scenic routes through forests, fjords and mountains. Along the way they will chase mysterious electrical fireflies, discover a secret underground world of dancing ants, rescue innocent birds, and restore the tamarins’ once idyllic natural habitat.

Director Omar Sawi has brought on an all-star cast from Rare’s golden era to help execute his creative vision for Tamarin and recapture the style and magical experiences they were famous for. The creators of iconic characters such as Diddy Kong, Banjo-Kazooie, and Battletoads are responsible for Tamarin’s concept art, pre-production and character design. In addition, Donkey Kong 64 artist Richard Vaucher leads the art production and provides energetic, responsive animations. Donkey Kong Country composer David Wise adds a catchy and melodic soundtrack. This is complemented by impactful sound effects by action-title veteran Graeme Norgate (GoldenEye 007, Killer Instinct).

Tamarin has been a labor of love for me and everyone working on it. It’s so exciting to finally have it up on the PlayStation Store and on our website,” said Omar Sawi, founder of Chameleon Games.

Pre-orders include an exclusive first listen to a tune from the game’s “incredible” soundtrack, composed by Wise, “surely one of the greatest video game composers in the world,” Sawi added. “I’m so grateful for the atmosphere of the music – especially to have such a wonderful track inspired by the beautiful Norwegian landscapes where I grew up – and which you’ll soon get to explore in Tamarin.”

Pre-order on PC at the Tamarin website will additionally receive free Tamarin wallpapers and cheat codes, and have the option to order a Deluxe Edition that includes the full soundtrack.

Tamarin is set to release in the not too distant future for both PlayStation 4 and PC for $29.99 USD. There will also be Deluxe Edition that includes the soundtrack for $39.99.
