Early this morning, CIRCLE Entertainment teased fans on Twitter with an announcement for an upcoming Nintendo Switch release. About an hour later, this release was revealed to be The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa- a self-described “existential open world beat ‘em up”. This indie title touts a visually pleasing pixel-art style, a strong narrative, and a mix of beat ‘em up and school-sim gameplay elements. Players take control of Ringo Ishikawa, the leader of a high school gang who is in his final year before graduation. You’ll brawl against gang members, you’ll attend high school, and you’ll even have a chance to play some ping-pong during your downtime.

At the moment, there is no word from either CIRCLE Entertainment or the developer (Yeo) about an official release date or a price. The version on Steam currently retails for $14.99 USD. CIRCLE Entertainment has indicated that more information on this release will be made available on its official Twitter page. You can also check out the developer’s page for additional updates.
