Nintendo has announced via their social media channels that the previously scheduled Nintendo Direct for September 6 will be delayed until further notice. They will notify followers of a new date and time in the near future.

The delay comes as a result of a massive 6.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Hokkaido, Japan. The quake struck early Thursday morning at 3 AM and at least 7 people were killed, 200 people are injured and about 30 more are missing.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragic event.
