Ten months from its initial announcement, The World Ends With You: Final Remix launches on North American and European Switch systems October 12th, 2018, with Nintendo of America/Europe co-publishing for Square Enix.

As promised in January’s Nintendo Direct mini, this enhanced release of the 2008 DS original includes a new scenario, newly remixed music, and Joy-Con and touch control options. Two-player co-op is another new addition to the JRPG cult classic.

Since its original release, The World Ends With You‘s time-bending tale of Neku and his hip, urbane friends surviving a twisted game has garnered cult status for its distinct visual style, novel combat involving two separate characters (on their own screen on the DS), and rocking soundtrack. Having been around the block on the Nintendo DS and iOS, the Switch’s Final Remix hits Japan weeks beforehand on September 27th, including a special limited edition box set.
