The Caligula Effect: Overdose

The Caligula Effect is back with some improvements! Originally released on the PlayStation Vita last year, The Caligula Effect: Overdose is making its way to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam in 2019!

The new version boasts updated graphics and UI along with new characters. Also, players have the choice to play as a female protagonist this time. The story is doubled what was offered in the original game, including new scenarios, endings, and a new route called the “Forbidden Musician Route.”

NIS America, the publisher for The Caligula Effect: Overdose, describes the game:

Mobius. An idyllic world that exists for the sake of letting people forget about the pain and problems of reality. In this world created by a sentient vocaloid program, μ (Mu), reality and fantasy has become blurred, allowing people to relive their high school years in bliss. Yet in this seemingly beautiful and perfect world, something is amiss. Escape from this false paradise with your fellow students and return to reality in The Caligula Effect: Overdose!

The Caligula Effect was originally published by Atlus USA on the PlayStation Vita. You can check out our review for that version here. The game also has an anime, available now on Crunchyroll.
