Normally we don’t cover much in the way of tabletop games, but even I’m familiar with Vampire: The Masquerade. This pen and paper legend has been around for a while now, since the 1980s, so fans might be very excited that the latest edition is soon going to be ready to play. This August, the fifth edition of Vampire is going live, and there’s a couple new features being introduced. There’s something called The Hunger cycle (shocking in a game about vampires, I know), new loresheets, sexy full color hardcovers and much more. Keep reading below to see what V5 of Vampire: The Masquerade has to offer.

Vampire: The Masquerade, the ultimate pen-and-paper game of supernatural horror, suspense and political intrigue continues into the 21st century! This August, the long-awaited and highly-requested fifth edition of the iconic roleplaying game Vampire: The Masquerade begins shipping worldwide, ushering in a new era of White Wolf Entertainment’s best-selling story universe, World of Darkness.

About Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition:

Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition is a return to the vision of the classic 1991 Vampire tabletop role-playing game, which spawned a supernatural transmedia universe that’s influenced two and a half decades of film, television shows, novels and video games.

V5 features a new set of modern rules and continues the dark and sexy tale started with the original 1991 Vampire: The Masquerade. Rooted in the exploration of evil and morality, the Vampire series challenges players to confront or channel their inner monster and exploit the weaknesses of society to satiate their own hunger for power — and thirst for blood. The terror of the Second Inquisition, the conspiracies behind the Gehenna War and the rekindling of the War of Ages: these are the building blocks of the modern V5 chronicle. The enthralling lore of the Kindred and Vampire metaplot advances to present day, in a bold reinvention built for existing fans and newcomers alike.

Powered by the innovative Hunger cycle, V5 includes rules for creating system-supported character coteries, Loresheets to directly involve players with their favorite parts of the setting, and Memoriam, a new way to bring characters’ detailed backgrounds into play and expand on them in-session.
