Owlboy | Logo Art

Owlboy has officially launched with a physical version for Nintendo Switch and PS4 now available in stores worldwide. 10 years went into developing the game which gave it a modern take on classic 16-bit pixel art. It has a large amount of detail and beautiful pixel animations. GamingBolt stated “The visual palette in Owlboy is vivid and beautiful and crammed full of details. From the clouds to the trees to the cliffs, everything in Owlboy looks gorgeous.” Not only that, but Owlboy has a wonderful soundtrack as well, with most of the songs featuring live instruments. In a feature about the game Push Square said “Jonathan Geer’s music accompanies the high-soaring gameplay and brings an incredible beauty and a sense of wonder to an already uplifting title.”

On July 13th you can expect to see a boxed limited edition in stores. It too will be available worldwide. There will only be 6000 copies available per platform. Owlboy‘s limited edition will contain the base game in addition to a range of collector’s items. No details on what those items are has been made available at this time.

Owlboy was developed by D-Pad Studio. They’re a small team made up of only 6 members, located in Norway. The game has received worldwide praise and was on New York Time Magazine’s list of Top 15 Video Games in 2016. It’s being published for consoles by SODESCO, a woldwide publisher of both digital and boxed games on multiple platforms. Check out the brand new trailer below.
