Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Poppi Buster in-game

In a production note in the Japanese website for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Nintendo has released the patch notes for the upcoming version 1.4.0 for the game. The new update is set for release worldwide on April 27, and will come with two new Rare Blades, as well as a couple of other features and additions.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Poppi Buster art

The first new Rare Blade is named Hana Buster (likely to be translated to Poppi Buster in English), and is seemingly a new form of Tora’s artificial Blade Poppi. It is only available to those who purchased the Expansion Pass, and will be acquired via a new quest that will be added with the update. While Hana Buster is still an artificial Blade like Poppi, she will be usable by any party member once she is acquired as opposed to just Tora.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 T-ELOS art

The second new Blade is another Xenosaga guest character, T-ELOS from Xenosaga Episode III, referred to in Japanese as T-ELOS Re: similar to KOS-MOS in this game. Similar to KOS-MOS, T-ELOS is designed by CHOCO, and will be added to the Core Crystal pool to players in the New Game+. However, it seems that the drop rate for her may be set higher than others, for players to be able to acquire her relatively easily once they start their New Game+.

In addition to these huge updates, a number of smaller additions will be added to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in 1.4.0, including the ability to sell Poppi parts for EXP with the Bard in the New Game+ and new options for sorting item lists. The post went on to tease some additions coming in May and onward, such as more new Blades, new quests, and a new “Extreme” difficulty setting.
