Limited Run Games turned heads with the announcement that they will be publishing Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch this summer. The the once-controversial FMV cult horror classic will come to a Nintendo platform for the first time both in physical and digital forms.

25 years ago, Night Trap was one of the games caught up in Congressional hearings to discuss the regulation of violent video games. Nintendo of America’s former President Howard Lincoln promised on the floor of Congress that Night Trap would never be released on a Nintendo platform. Finally that day has come, following generations where Nintendo’s standards of moral quality have relaxed in the wake of the ESRB and a leveled playing field for game creators.

Following this announcement, Limited Run Games will appear in an upcoming NF Magazine interview to tell-all on how they are bringing Night Trap to Switch. Originally released on SEGA CD in 1992, this modern remaster has previously been released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
