The King Fighters XIV

The King of Fighters XIV

Atlus U.S.A. has announced that The King of Fighters XIV now has four new DLC characters available. The new fighters can be purchased for $5.99 each, or you can get them in a bundle for $19.99 instead. Today’s press release also says that there is a new free patch out for the game, adding a bunch of game balancing tweaks and a brand new stage. The new stage is Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, mixing traditional and modern styles together. The Masmak fort sits in the foreground, framed by modern skyscrapers in the background.

They’ve also released a teaser trailer for each of the new fighters. The first new DLC fighter is Blue Mary. She is a freelance special agent. Her family is known for being skilled martial artists. Not surprisingly, this means she too is very skilled in a number of different martial arts disciplines. One of her strong skills is the Sambo fighting style, and thus she excels at grapple type moves.

Next up, we have the DLC fighter Heidern. He is a mercenary commander who is know for always remaining calm, though he can be quite paternal to Leona, his adopted daughter. On the battlefield, he fights his enemies with a mix of martial arts tactics and his own self-taught assassination techniques!

Najd is a quiet, reserved college student by day, and a mysterious vigilante protecting her fellow citizens by night. She wears an Abaya (a traditional Saudi garment), but it is no ordinary piece of clothing. This Abaya has great powers that aid her in the night.

Finally, we have Oswald, a card-wielding, veteran poker player and former hitman. As such, he is well known in the underworld, but he is generally a very composed gentleman. He also uses his cards in battle to hack and slash his foes, giving them some serious paper cuts! Getting on his bad side is ill-advised given his past, and the fact that he is a master of Karnoffel assassination art.

The King of Fighters XIV is available on PlayStation 4 at a price tag of $39.99/CA$53.49. It supports 1-2 players locally, and 2-12 online. You can find out more about the game at the official The King of Fighters XIV website.

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
