Them's Fightin' Herds | Story
…is that a llama?

We see a lot of fighting games here at oprainfall, and we cover even more. But few are quite as unique as one that hits early access today called Them’s Fightin’ Herds. Besides having a fantastic punny title, it’s unique because of the fighters. Each of the playable roster is a barnyard animal, animated in a distinctly My Little Pony aesthetic. While that might throw some people, it doesn’t change the fact the game still looks fast, furious and fun.

Them's Fightin' Herds | Combat

Developed by Mane6, Inc. and published by Humble Bundle, Them’s Fightin’ Herds is also offering some fun bonuses right out of the gate. If you own Skullgirls, you’ll immediately get a 25% off coupon for Them’s Fightin’ Herds. The reason for this discount is Herds utilizes the same fighting engine as Skullgirls, and the dev teams have a good working relationship. So even though it’s slated to sell for $14.99, that makes it even more affordable.

Them's Fightin' Herds | Regal

As for the fact that Them’s Fightin’ Herds is early access, that isn’t because it’s not ready. The game is very polished already, but that way it will allow the teams to further tailor and update the gameplay based off player feedback. Future updates will add the game’s Story Mode as well as DLC updates.

Them's Fightin' Herds | Story

Last but not least, if you own Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, BlazBlue Central Fiction or Skullgirls 2nd Encore, you will get some free crossover items in your Steam inventory. That’s a pretty great way to launch a game, and it’s exciting that there’s even more to look forward to in the months to come. Stay tuned to oprainfall for more info about Them’s Fightin’ Herds and our eventual review coverage!
